My 2024 Cruise Extravaganza begins in just a few days and I couldn’t be more excited, and (if truth be told), a little nervous too! This will be the longest time away from home in, well, forever, and although I know my place will be well looked after by my generous neighbours, and I’ll be in constant touch electronically with what’s going on back home, it feels strange to think of sailing for a month and a half. Okay, whining aside, I know I will have a fabulous time and I am grateful for the opportunity.
Still lots to do to get ready to fly to Florida to embark on the first cruise, which is a New Year’s Eve sailing so I’m packing a gown and the rhinestones! I really should call this my 2023/2024 Cruise Extravaganza but since it only involves three days on the ship in 2023, I decided to focus on next year, which will arrive so very soon! I’ll be sailing on a variety of back-to-back cruises, and some with a short break in-between to travel to the two cruise ports of Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and to visit my good buddy in Mexico. The first four cruises are what I would call regular cruises but there will also be charter sailings featuring jazz, R&B and Broadway; can’t wait!
Today is Christmas Day, and I am looking forward to gathering with family this evening; a great send-off to my first cruise. I wish everyone Happy Holidays, all the best for the New Year, and I’ll “see” you on socials, especially Facebook with the occasional post…that might just direct you back here for more articles.
